Interested in getting involved as an undergraduate student?
If you are a
Virginia Tech engineering student interested in helping with the
Virginia Tech Electromagnetic Launcher project, please send an email to the
address given below. US citizenship required.
Virginia
Tech students of all years
and majors are welcome to help in the ECSL. Though the project is
primarily associated with electrical engineering, students of all
engineering majors are encouraged to apply to participate for independent
study or 4805/6 senior capstone design opportunities. Our team also consists of
returning volunteers and graduate research assistants. Interested undergraduate
students must be United States citizens and willing to commit at least ten hours of
lab time per week into the project, in addition to the roughly two hour
weekly meetings. This project is a unique opportunity to work alongside
the US Navy while still a student, providing invaluable experience and
credentials not available anywhere else. In addition, students can earn
credits or wages, depending on their involvement in the project.
Undergraduates are recruited for independent study and senior capstone design
every semester.
